MISSION STATEMENT

Vertical Movement Dance Academy is a training center where students are taught classical ballet using the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.

Classes are offered in the following levels:

- Pre-Primary and Primary
- Grades 1 – 5
- Intermediate Foundation
- Intermediate
- Advance Foundation
- Advanced 1 & 2
- Adult classes

Our dance instructor, Jen Pineda has been teaching ballet classes since 2005 and is a Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance. She has received a total of twelve years of classical ballet instruction, successfully completed the RAD graded exams and has over twenty years of dance experience and performances. She is the Dance Director at Christ Church Kirkland as well as our School of Prophetic Arts.

Mission Statement

We seek to instill in the students of the Vertical Movement Dance Academy a biblical worldview of the performing arts and to train and equip them to use the creativity, talents and abilities God has given them in a manner that brings honor and glory to the Lord.

  • We seek to display God’s manifold (various forms and expressions) wisdom (Ephesians 3:8-12) by using the dance to make prophetic declarations of God’s purposes and His will on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10).
  • We seek to use the dance skills that the students have acquired to worship God, to express our faith in God, to celebrate His goodness and faithfulness to us and to please Him with the excellence in the dance performance as it is done for His glory alone and according to His standards of beauty and aesthetics in the dance. (Exodus 15:20-21; 2 Samuel 6:14; Psalm 30:11-12; Psalm 149:3; Psalm 150:4)
  • We seek to create an atmosphere of worship unto the Lord and edify the body of Christ and all those who come to the dance performances. (Romans 12:6; Romans 14:19)
  • We seek to establish a biblical and practical foundation for those students who may be called to reform the culture in the sphere of the performing arts, dance in particular. (Romans 12:4-6; Ephesians 2:10)
  • We seek to instill in the students a love for dance and the discipline of dance and enjoy it as God’s gift to us (James 1:17; Colossians 1:16-17). This is accomplished through performing the routines and exercises necessary to successfully execute the various dance steps and combinations in ballet.
